To the editor:
If the sheriff really wants to see the problems at the border addressed, I suggest he urge the MAGA Republicans in the House to bring the immigration bill already negotiated by both Republicans and Democrats in the Senate to a vote. The bill contains most of what the MAGAs want, and Biden has pledged to sign it. But Trump has demanded they not vote on it because he knows it will pass and he could no longer blame Biden for the problem. It is totally disingenuous to complain about the immigrant problem, while actively blocking its resolution.
