It’s looking better and better every day, although we did not have a bad winter I know everyone is ready for summer.
Snowbirds are arriving slowly but surely and traffic is building slowly but surely. The traffic coming and going in Glen Arbor on M-22 is sometimes just like a drag strip, but the Leelanau County Sheriff keeps it pretty well in check all summer thanks to Sheriff Borkovich. They can’t be everywhere but they do a good job.
Be careful on the roads in and out of towns, it’s time for the highway cleanup and volunteers that walk along and pick up all the trash. The Empire Lions Club will be cleaning a stretch along M-22, so be careful.
Once again, a reminder that we see coming up to Glen Lake Restaurant Week, doesn’t seem possible, but it’s the 10th year so from April 26th until May 4th enjoy some really great dinners.
We will miss Mari and Randy Chamberlain as they are retiring. Blu has always been a great restaurant and I’m certain it will remain so with the new management Brandon Chamberlain, owner and Chef Todd M. Thompson (no relation) kitchen and manager. I have always said it is the best view in the county.
The bears are awake, I can attest to that as we were visited over the weekend. Not much damage, garbage strewn and of course bird feeders were knocked down. We’ll just wait for a week or so until the bear can find tastier areas and put things back up. It goes with the territory.
Happy Birthday wishes to clerk Pam Laureto, Bob Ihme, Fred Schubert, Dawn Newman, Christine Neiswonger, Pat Smith, Linda Stevenson (aka bubby), daughter-in-law Kelly Thompson, and Melania Trump.
I hope everyone got their government payment (income tax) in. They have no sense of humor.
I know I repeat myself, but I feel it’s worth repeating, Winston Churchill said “The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings; the inherent vice of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries.”
Be happy. Be careful. Be kind. Watch the traffic.
Go Patriotism.
