Earth Day all week at OAB

The Old Art Building (OAB) in Leland will celebrate Earth Day with six events beginning next week. Journalist Peter Annin will provide a “Freshwater Focus” next Thursday, April 18 as part of the International Affairs Forum.

The Old Art Building (OAB) in Leland will celebrate Earth Day with six events beginning next week.

Journalist Peter Annin will provide a “Freshwater Focus” next Thursday, April 18 as part of the International Affairs Forum.

He will speak about the history of water use in the Great Lakes from 7 to 8 p.m. Doors for this free event open at 6:30 p.m.

Family Art Night inspired by Tyree Guyton is set for 5 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, April 19. Cost is $30.

Monday at 2 p.m. Coffee with a Ranger is slated. Tom Ulrich, retired deputy superintendent with Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, will be the featured speaker. This event is also free.

On Friday, April 26 at 9:30 a.m. the OAB Garden Crew will host a cleanup on the exterior of the building.

Events will conclude on Saturday, April 27 with a concert by Grammy nominated cellist Hans Christian. The concert begins at 7 p.m. with doors opening at 6:30.
