To the editor:
Leelanau County deserves a better Sheriff. Someone who is focused on law enforcement, not political grandstanding.
Mr. Borkovich stood in our uniform, behind a criminally indicted candidate, while Trump told boldfaced lies about murder victim Ruby Garcia’s family — to their absolute horror. This was an outright embarrassment for Leelanau.
When did Borkovich so badly lose his sense of dignity? Once respected at DNR, he’s now more politics than law enforcement.
Our “Constitutional Sheriff” vows only to enforce laws he chooses to in his divine “wisdom,” while he showboats for the cameras.
He should be ashamed of himself.
