Northwestern Michigan College will host author Abra Berens Thursday, April 11 at the Traverse Area District Library.
During the 6 p.m. program, she will discuss her latest cookbook, “Pulp: a Practical Guide to Cooking with Fruit,” recently selected as a Michigan Notable Book for 2024.
In addition to highlighting recipes using fruits of the northwest Lower Peninsula. She will discuss her cookbook writing process and experiences as well as area agriculture and food production.
Berens co-founded Bare Knuckle Farm in Northport, and has collaborated with Farm Club in Elmwood Township.
