The Empire community will be hosting a chili cook-off on Saturday, March 23 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Empire Town Hall on Front Street.
Visitors will taste and vote by their wallet. The chili with the most cash earned wins. The chili cook-off will benefit the Empire Area Food Pantry and Paper Pantry which is sponsored by Empire United Methodist Church.
Registration is required if you want to serve chili. Call 989-5601667.
The Empire community will also host a free community Easter dinner on Sunday, March 31 from noon to 2 p.m. with take out options available hosted by the Empire United Methodist Church on 10050 Michigan St.
This dinner will benefit the Empire Area Paper Pantry and visitors are asked to bring a personal hygiene product for donation.
