The Ed & Irene Fleis Education Fund will host a spring gathering May 3, with the Grand Rapids Symphony. “May the Fourth Be With You: Star Wars and More! Concert” will benefit the education fund, which will receive 20% from ticket sales that are purchase using promo code FLEIS.

“May the Fourth Be With You: Star Wars and More! Concert” will benefit the education fund, which will receive 20% from ticket sales that are purchase using promo code FLEIS.

The symphony will perform iconic music featured in the nine films of Skywalker Saga composed by John Williams.

Northport women to meet

The Northport Women’s Club will meet Tuesday, April 2 at Trinity Church in Northport.

Guests are welcome to join the group for the program and snacks.

The program for the meeting is “The History of the Women’s Club Collect.”

FA chapter formed

Families Anonymous (FA), a program to support families whose lives have been affected by substance abuse, has opened a new chapter in Traverse City.

FA is a 12-Step non-profit formed to provide support for families and friends of people with a current, suspected or former drug problems.

The new FA group meets from 7 to 8 p.m., Wednesdays at 488 Wild Life Refuge (488 Munson Avenue), Traverse City.

Improv group to perform

Good on Paper, an improv group, will be back at Black Star Farms April 6.

The six-member group has been turning to audience suggestions into scenes for more than 10 years.

Group member, David Avis, grew up in Leland Township.
