The Glen Lake Library will host local filmmaker James Weston Schaberg for a screening of his 2023 documentary film “Eye of the Wind” on Monday at 7 p.m.

The film is a stunning presentation of aerial photography demonstrating the art of quietly capturing bird’s-eye views without noisy propellers or burning fossil fuels.

“Eye of the Wind” is an adventure in modern kite aerial photography— an art form and flight technology invented in France during the late 1800s. The film offers unique perspectives on the landscapes of Leelanau County and other locations.

Saturday, the library will begin weekly natural drawing and journal workshop. The Glen Lake Library will host a series of nature drawing and journaling workshops, beginning local artist, educator and environmentalist Penny Krebiehl.

The event workshop, scheduled Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon, will start out from the library, with participants venturing out to various local natural areas.

Dress for outdoor temps and weather, and bring drawing supplies (notebook/journal, pencils/pens).
